What is wrong with my bowels?

ok this has happened to me many times. after going number 2 i will be good for a few hours and then ill have to go number 2 again. but this time it is not poop but some type of thin white mucus. i have looked up tons of pics of tapeworm and their eggs but this does not look like that. its more like if you blow a long piece of snot hanging out of your nose. its white sometimes clear sometimes thin as a piece of string sometimes thicker like yarn. i dont wanna go to the doctor and get my probed if its something thats no big deal.
