What is this book called?

I read this book in like the 5th grade. it was about a doll that had traveled with a family that immigrated to America. The doll was left behind, or something, and somehow at the end it wound up at this ladies house. she was like a doll fixer or something. she was telling the story of the doll to her granddaughter, I believe. Anyways, I don't remember the name of the book, and it is bothering. Please answer if you have any idea.
